From Japan to Bali: Kanto International Senior High School 2026 Learns Indonesian Language and Culture at the Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Udayana
Denpasar, August 3, 2026 – The Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Udayana, welcomed students from Kanto International Senior High School, Japan, through the Kanto International Senior High School Japan 2026 Cultural Visit Program. The program officially commenced with an opening ceremony held at the Widya Sabha Mandala Auditorium, Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Udayana, on Monday, August 3, 2026.
This year, three students from Kanto International Senior High School are participating in the program, accompanied by two school representatives. The program will take place for approximately three weeks, from August 3 to August 21, 2026.
The opening ceremony began with a welcoming speech by Dr. I Gusti Ayu Agung Mas Triadnyani, S.S., M.Hum., Head of the Indonesian Literature Study Program, Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Udayana. In her remarks, she warmly welcomed the students and accompanying representatives from Kanto International Senior High School. She also expressed her hope that the program would provide the participants with an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of Indonesian language and culture through direct learning experiences at Universitas Udayana.
The ceremony continued with a speech by I Nyoman Aryawibawa, S.S., M.A., Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Udayana. He expressed his appreciation for the continuation of the collaboration between the Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Udayana, and Kanto International Senior High School. The program is expected not only to provide the students with valuable academic experiences but also to strengthen cultural exchange and friendship between Indonesia and Japan.
The next speech was delivered by Yumiko Sisilia Horas, a representative accompanying the students from Kanto International Senior High School. She expressed her appreciation and gratitude to the Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Udayana, for welcoming and supporting the participants throughout the program. She also expressed her hope that the program would provide meaningful and memorable experiences for the students during their stay in Bali.
Throughout the program, the students from Kanto International Senior High School will participate in various activities focusing on Indonesian language and culture. In addition to classroom learning, the participants will take part in activities designed to provide them with first-hand experiences of Indonesian society, daily life, and cultural diversity.
Through this program, the students are expected to improve their understanding and proficiency in Indonesian while gaining a deeper appreciation of Indonesia's rich cultural diversity. At the same time, the program serves as part of the Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Udayana's efforts to expand international partnerships and promote academic and cultural exchange between Indonesia and Japan.
The opening ceremony concluded with a group photograph involving the faculty leadership, lecturers, students, accompanying representatives, and other participants, marking the official commencement of the Kanto International Senior High School Japan 2026 Cultural Visit Program.
