Flashback Contribution of Indonesian Literature Students in Student Sports Week, Faculty of Cultural Sciences 2024
Student Sports Week (POM) is back as an activity which aims to be a forum for developing the interests and talents of all students at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences. This year, the POM Faculty of Cultural Sciences will be held from May 1 2024 to May 26 2024. The competitions held this year are Pro Evolution Soccer (PES), basketball, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), chess, table tennis, billiards, futsal, good jegeg, badminton, solo vocals, and PUBG Mobile.
Pro Evolution Soccer (PES)
Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) is the first competition to be held at POM 2024. This competition was held at the same time as the grand opening. This year, for the PES competition, Indonesian Literature was represented by Ody, a class 21 student as the main player and Naradha, a class 23 student as a reserve player. This PES competition was held at the Widya Sabha Auditorium, Udayana University, Jimbaran.
When contacted, Ody admitted that he had quite a lot of difficulties, such as getting an inappropriate team, because during practice Ody used the team he usually uses. Then, at the technical meeting, Ody also didn't get the right team. But despite that, Ody did not give up and remained enthusiastic about training. "But I keep practicing to get the style of playing," he said. Ody also said that the training he did was routine, in fact for a whole week he looked for PS rentals and looked for friends to practice with. Ody's efforts produced sweet results. He won a gold medal presented for Indonesian Literature.
Basketball and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB)
On Friday, May 3 2024, two competitions will be held at once, namely basketball and MLBB. The contingent representing Indonesian Literature in the basketball competition was Ridhwan (students from class 22), Satria and Andrew (students from class 21), and Syahrul (students from class 20). The basketball competition took place at the Bali League, East Denpasar. Meanwhile, the contingent representing Indonesian Literature in the MLBB competition is Todo (students from class 21), Yoga (students from class 22), Jeremy, Andika, and Ikhrom (students from class 23). The MLBB competition was held for two days. The first day of the MLBB competition was held online, while the second day was held offline at the Nusantara Room, Sudirman Campus.
Chess and Table Tennis
The competition will be held again on May 5 2024, namely the chess competition branch represented by Paulinus Hanto, class 23 student. The chess competition will take place at the Widya Sabha Mandala Auditorium, Faculty of Cultural Sciences. When contacted, Yanto said that he had quite a long training time, namely approximately one month from selection to competition day. Yanto practiced just relying on a computer for one week. He lost his focus in the middle of training, because he felt bored practicing on the computer continuously. Apart from that, Yanto also had difficulty finding friends to accompany him to practice. The challenges and obstacles that Yanto experienced did not only occur during training, but Yanto also experienced difficulties during the competition.
On May 8 2024, a table tennis competition was held at the Widya Sabha Mandala Auditorium, Faculty of Cultural Sciences. The contingent representing this competition was Yanto, a class 23 student, and Roland, a class 22 student. In an interview, one of the table tennis representatives, Roland, revealed that he experienced problems during practice. "The problem was that I couldn't manage my practice time. I took part in more than one competition, so I couldn't manage the time. Moreover, at that time the Literature Week committee was taking place," he said.
Billiards and Futsal
Billiards was the sixth competition held. This competition will be held on Friday, May 10 2024 at Cosmic Cafe, South Denpasar. Sastra Indonesia sent two people to be representatives of the contingent for this competition, namely Satria, a class 21 student and Ubay, a class 22 student.
Futsal Competition Participants
Meanwhile, the futsal competition will be held for two days, namely the first day on May 11 2024 and the second day on May 12 2024 at Gor Lila Bhuana, North Denpasar. Indonesian Literature sent ten people to be representatives in the futsal competition, including Todo, Satria, and Bais who were class 21 students, Roland, Ardi, Ubay, Nogi, and Rifqi who were class 22 students, and Yanto and Ikhrom who were students class 23.
Badminton and Vocal Solo
On May 18 2024, two competitions will also be held at once, namely badminton and vocal solo. To represent the badminton competition, Sastra Indonesia sent four people consisting of Aryo (students from class 21), Ubay and Elen (students from class 22), and Anjelica (students from class 23). The location where this badminton competition is held is the Jimbaran Sport Center.
Meanwhile, the solo vocal competition was represented by Wikan, one of the class 23 students. Wikan prepared himself carefully. Practice regularly every day, starting from the end of April until the day of the race. Moreover, Wikan is part of the POM committee, so Wikan's activities are busy. Even during practice, Wikan certainly experienced difficulties, such as adjusting the FIB march tempo, pronunciation of Bruno Mars songs, and many more. Even though he experienced difficulties, Wikan still felt happy and proud because he could represent the Indonesian Literature Study Program in the solo vocal competition.
PUBG Mobile
Sunday, May 19 2024, a PUBG Mobile competition was held which took place in the Nusantara Room, Sudirman Campus. The Indonesian Literature Study Program sent five representatives, namely, Aryo and Ody from class 21, Jeremy and Andika from class 23, and Ardi from class 22. The five PUBG Mobile participants practice regularly both online, namely from their respective homes and offline. The Indonesian Literature Study Program successfully entered the preliminary round against the Japanese Literature Study Program. However, the Indonesian Literature Study Program was defeated by the Japanese Literature Study Program during the preliminary round and was ranked fourth. Even so, they were not disappointed and were proud because they were able to reach fourth place.
Jegeg Bagus
Good Jegeg Competition Participants
Desi Yulianti and Natanael Yulianto from class 23 were trusted as representatives of Jegeg and Bagus Sastra Indonesia at this POM. Wednesday, May 22 2024, the participants showed their interests and talents. Natanael as Bagus performed a song entitled "I see the light" from the film Tangled and Desi as Jegeg delivered a speech about the janger dance as well as dancing the janger dance of the 1920s.
Sunday, May 26 2024 will be the peak day for the selection of Jegeg Bagus Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Udayana University, as well as the closing of Student Sports Week. On this peak day, the winner of the Jegeg Bagus Faculty of Cultural Sciences competition was announced. Jegeg Bagus Indonesian Literature has successfully entered the top five finalists in the 2024 FIB Jegeg and Bagus category.
