Solo and Chess Vocals
Wednesday, May 17, 2023, a solo vocal competition was held which took place in the Soekarno room, the Poerbatjaraka building, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Udayana University. On this occasion, the Indonesian Literature Study Program was represented by Ni Made Risma Dwiantari from batch 22. Initially, Risma had refused to be a representative to take part in the solo vocal competition because she had been appointed to be the official team for the Jegeg Bagus competition branch, but she also thought that this was an opportunity who doesn't come twice, in which singing is also one of his hobbies. After consulting with some of his closest friends, he finally decided to accept the offer to become a representative for solo vocals.
After coordinating the requirements that must be met, Risma began preparing the files she needed. He also didn't have much time to practice, for two weeks he practiced twice with the official solo vocal competition team on campus, and the rest practiced independently at home. Even though she had not won the championship, Risma revealed that she had very mixed feelings at that time. When being interviewed regarding his message and impressions of participating in the solo vocal competition, he said that he was happy but also doubtful. Had occurred in his mind "Should I not just join the race huh?" but even so he still lived happily.
“Happy and scared. I was happy because I was able to develop my potential and during the training process, I learned many things, both from what I searched for myself and input from friends who accompanied me to practice. To be honest, I'm afraid because I don't know the quality of the people I will face during the race. But many times, official and non-official friends have encouraged me that I can do it. After the race passed I also felt happy, everything went smoothly without any significant obstacles. Even though I haven't won yet, I believe experience is more important than awards," he said during an interview.
On the same day, a chess match was also held, represented by Annisa Nur Aslamiyah from class 22. Annisa's preparations to take part in this match were to do exercises by relying on online applications and also to maintain her body in good shape. The message and impression conveyed by Annisa while participating in the chess competition was “It's great to be able to compete with FIB chess athletes, from basic athletes to those who are already pros too. For the next Sasindo representative, don't practice impromptu, because every chess field is different when you are often in the conditions you face, so you should be able to control the chessboard."
