Closing Ceremony of the BIPA FIB UNUD and Busan University of Foreign Studies Short Course: Cultural and Academic Synergy
On Friday, August 9, 2024, the Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) program of the Faculty of Cultural Studies, Udayana University, held the closing ceremony for the Short Course in collaboration with Busan University of Foreign Studies, South Korea. The event took place in the Widya Sabha Mandala Hall, FIB Denpasar.
The event began with a speech by the BIPA Program Coordinator, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Suparwa, M.Hum., who expressed his gratitude to the students and representatives from Busan University of Foreign Studies for choosing to collaborate with BIPA FIB UNUD. He also conveyed his hope for future collaborations, whether in language research or other fields.
The event continued with a gamelan performance, a collaboration between students from Busan University of Foreign Studies and FIB UNUD, followed by a poetry reading by a student from Busan University of Foreign Studies.
Next, a speech was delivered by a representative from Busan University of Foreign Studies, Mrs. Rieke. She expressed her appreciation to BIPA FIB UNUD for hosting the Short Course program over the past month and for introducing Balinese culture to the students from South Korea. Responding to the collaboration proposal made earlier, she stated that Busan University of Foreign Studies is open to supporting research initiatives by BIPA or Udayana University in South Korea.
This collaboration involved BIPA FIB UNUD and several study programs within FIB, namely Indonesian Literature, Old Javanese Literature, Balinese Literature, and Cultural Anthropology. The Short Course program lasted for approximately one month. The closing ceremony concluded with the screening of a farewell and memory video, enjoyed by all guests, students, and representatives from Busan University of Foreign Studies.
