Closing Ceremony of BIPA (Indonesian for Foreign Speakers) Universitas Udayana 2025 Strengthening the Internationalization of the Indonesian Language
The Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University, held the Closing Ceremony of the Indonesian for Speakers of Other Languages (BIPA) Program for the September–December 2025 Period on Friday, 19 December 2025, at the Prof. Dr. Priyono Building, Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University. This event officially marked the conclusion of the entire learning series of the BIPA Program conducted over one academic period. The ceremony was attended by the Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University, the Head of the BIPA Program along with staff, BIPA instructors, and BIPA students from Levels 1, 2, and 3 representing various countries. The presence of these stakeholders reflected strong academic collaboration in the implementation and sustainability of the BIPA Program at Udayana University.
The event commenced with an opening session and expressions of gratitude for the successful implementation of the BIPA Program at Udayana University during the September–December 2025 period. This was followed by a program report delivered by the Head of the BIPA Program, Prof. Dr. Drs. I Nyoman Suparwa, M.Hum., which outlined student learning achievements, academic activities conducted throughout the program, and the strategic contribution of the BIPA Program in promoting the Indonesian language and culture to international learners. The report emphasized the program’s commitment to supporting the internationalization of Indonesian language and culture through formal education.
The next address was delivered by the Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University, Dr. I Gede Oeinada, S.S., M.Hum. In his remarks, he expressed appreciation to all members of the academic community who actively contributed to the success of the BIPA Program. He also emphasized the importance of continuous learning, encouraging students who had received their certificates to continue developing their Indonesian language proficiency beyond the completion of the program as part of strengthening linguistic competence and intercultural understanding.
The agenda continued with a reflection session, during which representatives of BIPA students from each level shared their impressions and messages. Isolde Askaner, a Level 1 BIPA student, expressed her gratitude to the instructors for their guidance and support throughout the learning process, despite the challenges she encountered. Maria Andrrevna, a Level 2 BIPA student, reflected on her meaningful learning experience, emphasizing that the program provided not only certificates but also valuable academic and cultural experiences. Furthermore, Hanna and Kan Ji Hye, Level 3 BIPA students, conveyed their appreciation for the opportunity to participate in the BIPA Program at Udayana University, which enabled them to learn the Indonesian language while gaining comprehensive insights into Indonesian culture. Overall, the students highlighted the BIPA Program as an effective platform for developing Indonesian language proficiency and broadening intercultural perspectives.
The highlight of the Closing Ceremony was the presentation of certificates of completion to all BIPA students who had successfully fulfilled the academic requirements of the program. This certificate presentation served as institutional recognition of the students’ dedication, commitment, and learning achievements throughout their participation in the BIPA Program at Udayana University. The Closing Ceremony of the BIPA Program at Udayana University for the September–December 2025 Period concluded with a group photo session involving faculty leadership, instructors, and all BIPA students. Through this activity, it is expected that BIPA graduates of Udayana University will serve as ambassadors of the Indonesian language and culture in their respective countries and contribute to strengthening Indonesia’s presence in the international arena.
