Two Meaningful Days: POSSI 2025 as a Platform for Togetherness

Bedugul – The Peak Event of the Introduction to Indonesian Literature Studies (POSSI) 2025 was successfully held on Thursday (February 13, 2025) and Friday (February 14, 2025) at Wisma Nangun Kerti, Bedugul. POSSI is one of the flagship programs of the Indonesian Literature Student Association (Himasindo), aiming to provide new students with a deeper understanding of the Indonesian Literature Study Program. This year’s POSSI carried the theme “Harmony in Collaboration: Creating, Progressing, and Empowering Together.”


The event was officially opened by the Advisor of the Indonesian Literature Student Association, Mr. Jalu Norva Illa Putra, S.S., M.A., followed by the symbolic awarding of name tags to POSSI 2025 participants. The introduction of faculty members took place after the Napak Tilas session and a short break. The faculty introduction began with lecturers who attended POSSI 2025, including Dr. Drs. I Ketut Sudewa, M.Hum.; Prof. Dr. I Wayan Cika, M.S.; Prof. Dr. Made Sri Satyawati, S.S., M.Hum.; I Gusti Ngurah Mayun Susandhika, S.S., M.Hum.; Ida Bagus Gede Dharma Putra, S.S., M.A.; Isnan Waluyo, S.Pd., M.A.; and I Putu Ari Putra Maulana, S.S., M.A. This was followed by the introduction of new faculty members, Ni Kadek Devi Rahayu Padmayanti, S.S., M.Hum., and Ni Komang Diah Restu Swari, S.Pd., M.A. Jalu Norva Illa Putra, S.S., M.A. also acted as the moderator for the faculty introduction and Sharing Session.


The Sharing Session was divided into three segments: Philology, presented by Prof. Dr. I Wayan Cika, M.S.; Literature, presented by Dr. Drs. I Ketut Sudewa, M.Hum.; and Linguistics, presented by Prof. Dr. Made Sri Satyawati, S.S., M.Hum. This session aimed to help POSSI 2025 participants gain a better understanding of the various fields within Indonesian Literature, aiding them in selecting their academic focus.


Cakrawala Theater added to the excitement by performing poetry musicalization and a monologue. These performances served as a preview for participants before they staged their own performances later in the evening. The participants' performances were determined by a group lottery, with the first group presenting the drama “Nyanyian Padi dan Rumput”(The Song of Rice and Grass), the second group performing “Berpulang dengan Dawai” (Returning with Strings), the third group presenting a poetry musicalization of “Kata Kata Kata” by Umbu Landu Paranggi, the fourth group performing the drama “Tuyul”, and the fifth group delivering a poetry musicalization of “Sia-sia” by Chairil Anwar. The first day of the POSSI Peak Event concluded with a ceremonial bonfire, symbolizing the welcoming of new students into the Indonesian Literature family.


The second day began with a morning exercise session, followed by breakfast before the official closing of POSSI 2025. The closing ceremony was held in the hall of Wisma Nangun Kerti by the Himasindo Advisor, marked by the removal of participants’ name tags and the reading of participants’ impressions and messages. This was followed by an introduction to the POSSI 2025 organizing committee, an introduction to Himasindo, and the introduction and recruitment of the committee for Pekan Sastra 2025, another major program of Himasindo.

The Introduction to Indonesian Literature Studies event concluded with the participants' departure from Wisma Nangun Kerti. This event provided students with the opportunity to learn more about Indonesian Literature while strengthening relationships among students and faculty members. The two-day event received overwhelmingly positive responses, and with the success of POSSI, it is hoped that new students will be better prepared for their academic journey in the Indonesian Literature Study Program.
