TRAINING IN LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE RESEARCH METHODS INDONESIAN LITERATURE STUDY PROGRAM UDAYANA UNIVERSITY – SEMESTER 4

`

Pupuan- a 4th-semester student of the Indonesian literature study program, at Udayana University, carried out training in language and literature research methods (05.06/07/23).


    One of the missions of the Indonesian literature study program is inseparable from the vision and mission of Udayana University, namely "excellence, independence and culture." The excellence referred to is excellence in the academic field. Academic excellence means quality in implementing the tri dharma of higher education and as a center for research, development, and the dissemination of Indonesian linguistic and literary knowledge. In line with this mission, on Wednesday 5 July 2023, the Indonesian Literature Study Program carried out language research and literary research training activities in Pupuan Village, Pupuan District, Tabanan Regency, Bali Province. Tabanan village was chosen because the people come from various tribes in Indonesia. This diversity was the basis for choosing Pupuan village.


    Implementation of language and literature research methods training activities took place in Pupuan village, Tabanan district. This activity is mandatory for Indonesian literature students class of 2021. 45 students attended this activity and were accompanied by five lecturers, namely Dr. Drs. I Ketut Sudewa, M. Hum. Dr. Drs. I Made Madia, M. Hum. Dr. Ni Made Dhanawaty, M.S. Jalu Norva Illa Putra, S.S., M.A. And I Gusti Ngurah Mayun Susandhika, S.S., M.Hum. The activity began with a reception by staff and several representatives of the Pupuan village community, followed by an opening by the MC, remarks by the head of research training, Dr. Drs. I Ketut Sudewa, m.hum, continued with remarks from the village as well as introducing Pupuan village to students of the Indonesian literature study program at Udayana University. He said he was ready to help students in the research process. He also expressed his gratitude for choosing Pupuan village as a research site and hoped that the village could be better known. "So whatever activities you do, we are ready to help fully," said Mr I Gede Eri Surianto. "Secondly, before Puniki, the pole also said thank you for choosing Pupuan village as a research site. So before Puniki, Niki is for the second time in 2023. Before this, we also collaborated with Udayana University on March 15 related to village development. "Pupuan. Our village has become the second place for this, we are very, very grateful, so that in the future hopefully our village will be better known," he continued.


    Research training was held for two days on 5 and 6 July 2023. On the first day, students conducted research from 16.00 WIT to 18.00 WIT. Students who have not completed interviews with the community are allowed to continue research on the second day, from 07.00 to 09.00 WITA, then the representatives of the students and lecturers who accompanied him were grateful to the village to take photos of the group and then returned to Denpasar. This research aims to find out whether the language culture of the native people of the Pupuan village is influenced by the language culture of the immigrant community or vice versa. Of course, this research does not only focus on researching the language culture of the local community but also on researching legends or folklore in Pupuan village, for students taking a literature concentration. The main target of this research is of course the Pupuan village community with various criteria such as children, teenagers, adults, and even the elderly.
