Socialization and Service of Indonesian Literature Study Program at SMAN 1 Praya, SMAN 2 Praya, and SMAN 4 Praya, Central Lombok Regency, NTB Province
Background
One of the missions owned by the Indonesian Literature Bachelor Study Program, the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Udayana University is "Organizing a Quality Higher Education Tridarma that can support the process of change and progress of the Indonesian nation, especially in the field of linguistic and literacy of Indonesia". In line with this mission, on Monday-Tuesday, 29-30 January 2024, the Indonesian Literature Study Program carried out socialization activities in three high schools in Lombok Praya, West Nusa Tenggara Province. The choice of Lombok Praya Regency as the location of this activity was based on the existence of several Indonesian Literature Study Program students who studied at Udayana University. That is, this region is appropriate as the target of socialization.
Goals and objectives
This socialization activity aims to introduce the Indonesian Literature Bachelor Study Program, the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Udayana University to students at SMAN 1 Praya, SMAN 2 Praya, and SMAN 4 Praya in Lombok Praya Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province. It is hoped that after graduating from high school, they will be interested in studying at the Indonesian Literature Study Program.
Implementation of activities
Indonesian Literature Bachelor Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Udayana University (on the occasion of the socialization was represented by the Coordinator of the Study Program Dr. I Gusti Ayu Agung Mas Triadnyani, S.S., M.Hum and Prof. Dr. Ni Made Dhawaty, M.Sc.). Study Program visits SMAN 1 Praya, SMAN 2 Praya, and SMAN 4 Praya in Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province. The event occurred on Monday and Tuesday, 29 and 30 January 2024. The first activity took place at SMAN 1 Praya. The event was opened with remarks from the Deputy Principal for Student Affairs and continued with the presentation of the introduction of the Study Program by the Coordinator of the Indonesian Literature Bachelor Study Program Dr. I Gusti Ayu Agung Mas Triadnyani, S.S., M.Hum. This socialization activity aims to introduce the Indonesian Literature Bachelor Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Udayana University to students. The second activity took place at SMAN 2 Praya with an event agenda that was more or less the same as the activities in the previous high school.
The Indonesian Literature Study Program is supported by sufficient human resources (twenty-four lecturers with seven of them are professors (professors), ten doctors, seven S2 education, and 99% already have qualifications as lecturers (serdos) issued by the Ministry of Education and Culture) Most lecturers have experience as practitioners such as poets, novelists, journalists, and expert witnesses in the field of forensic linguistics (in investigations, investigations, and trials in court). This activity was a closed discussion and question and answer between students and speakers that took place lively. This can be seen from the enthusiasm of students who ask questions.
The service activity was focused on SMAN 4 Praya with a brief presentation of study program socialization. The Deputy Principal opened the event for Public Relations. Then proceed with Prof.'s presentation Dr. Ni Made Dhawaty about "Origin of Indonesian Language, Indonesian Trip, Indonesian Dynamics, and Standard Language". He said that Indonesian is important for the achievement of information messages, especially for multicultural communities like today. Activities for two days ended by visiting the University of Mataram to share experiences and knowledge.
