International Webinar The Women Resistance to Actualize Gender Equality in the Legend of Calon Arang

The Indonesian Literature Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Udayana University, is participating in an international webinar themed "The Women Resistance to Actualize Gender Equality in the Legend of ‘Calon Arang’." This webinar discusses the values of gender equality and women's resistance reflected in the folktale "Calon Arang." The event aims to explore how the legend raises gender issues through its narrative and characters.

The event will be held on December 6-7, 2024, and will be attended by participants from various parts of the world. I Gusti Ayu Agung Mas Triadnyani, a lecturer in Indonesian Literature at Udayana University, will represent the Indonesian Literature Study Program in this webinar. As an academic with expertise in literature, I Gusti Ayu Agung Mas Triadnyani is expected to contribute insightful thoughts on the theme of women's resistance and gender equality in Indonesian folktales.

This webinar will also serve as a platform for discussions involving academics, researchers, and practitioners interested in gender issues and literature. During the two-day event, participants will have the opportunity to delve deeper into how folktales like "Calon Arang" can offer new insights into understanding the position of women and their struggle for equality.
